Grooming Services
Grooming Details:
This page is designed to help explain a Groomer's terminology so that you know better what to ask for when booking an appointment, or discussing your dog to with me.

Partial Groom includes the following:
Your dog professionally bathed and catered to his/her needs with special shampoo -i.e.: medicatied, flea & tick, oatmeal, etc...
Complete blow dry and brush out.
Toe nail trimming and grinding, ears cleaned and plucked if your breed requires such.
Tooth brushing and breath spray
Face, feet, ears/tail and skirt line trimmed.
Bow or Bandana and cologne if wanted - always free of charge!
Full Service includes the following:
Everything as stated with partial groom with the addition of hair taken off the entire body.
This would be any cut from breed specific patterns all the way to a basic shave down.
Hand Strip includes the following:
A bath if owner wants. Hand stripping is a lost art form of grooming. It requires a lot of time, money and dedication on owners part. Hand stripping should be started as puppies between 6 months and a year of age. I can dedicate my self to this process but only want serious owners to consider this type of grooming. Also included in this package as well is ear cleaning/plucking, teeth brushing and nail trimming/grinding.
Puppy Service includes the following:
Bath using a mild tearless shampoo gentle for puppies 6 weeks and older.
Toe nail clipping and grinding (puppy permitted with grinding)
Ears cleaned and plucked (puppy permitted with plucking)
If breed requires - Face, feet and sanitary trimming to get them used to the grooming process.
We always recommend doing the Puppy Service at least once to help your puppy ease into grooming. This can be a terrifying experience to a new puppy and allowing them to take it slow and not push full hair cuts will allow them to enjoy the grooming process!
I also offer the following services:
- The "in and out" groom. This is a groom where your pet can be done straight through. This is not a service which maybe right for every dog. It is an addition charge of 5$ and must be scheduled prior to your appointment day. This service is great for those dogs who don't do as well in a kennel. This is also a good option for those pets who don't handle the stress of normal grooming time which typically takes 2 to 3 hours.
-
- Heavily matted dogs always require extra attention. If your dog is matted and ABLE to be de-matted, there will most likely be an additional charge for de-matting. This charge varies from 5 to 15$ depending on severity. Understand that heavily matted dogs will be shaved down. At the dog spa it is our goal to make your pet feel better not worse. Mats are very painful and pull on the hair, brushing a heavily matted dog will do nothing but cause your pet pain which is not what we are here to do. We would NEVER shave owners pet without upfront consent, and you may be asked to sign a matted pet release if the pets specific case requires such action. For the safety of your pet this is sometimes required. Matted dogs are at higher risk for getting skin infections, flea infestations, and sickness. They are also more likely to get injured in the grooming process, including brush burns, bruising, cuts and scrapes. It is safer for your matted pet to be shaved down in these cases, also pets may have underlaying skin conditions under matting that we might not be aware of until getting the hair removed. Regular grooming of your pet can help to ensure that matting will not become a problem for you.
Other Information:
- Be sure to let me know if your pet has any allergies. This will avoid problems with any product we might use on your pet.
- Also, always be sure to keep us updated on your pet's health. Knowing any conditions beforehand can always help in dealing with your pet for basic grooming, and can also help make me aware of things to look for.
- I DO NOT use any tranquilizers to groom your pet. I am a firm believer that safety always comes first and that there is never a need to push grooming on your pet. Some pet's require special attention or might take longer to get used to the grooming process and for this we ask for your patience and understanding if it takes a while to get a new puppy adjusted, an older dog groomed, or a stressed dog done. This helps to ensure that your pet will have a good experience and will enjoy future grooming.
As always, our business will continue to grow with referrals from you. With that said I would like to offer $5.o0 off your next grooming visit for any referral you send. I appreciate your business and continued support!
